The reason we partake in this event is because all the Fundraising from Novemberfest goes to us. This is the only event we need to help with in order to receive the benefits of the wonderful event at Littleton,Novemberfest! We need your help. I will be there and I would love to see others of you there. It would be great if we saw not only Littleton PARENTS, but also Heritage. This is a great time for some of you who can’t help out during the week because of your work schedule to volunteer a few hours to help out. Friday, September 12 Sing Up Now for WINTER I and WINTER II! H/L would like to have at least one team playing in both the Winter 1 and Winter 2 South Suburban Leagues starting in October. Winter 1 and 2 are highly recommended by your coaches and a great way to start getting ready for try-outs and the season. Think seriously about playing. Winter 1 Lax starts October 25 and ends December 20. It meets on Saturday morning, and games are anywhere from 8 till 2pm. Winter 2 is almost mandatory, as it occurs just before tryouts. Winter 2 starts in January and goes till mid-February. A team requires a minimum of 15 players that actually plan on being there all seven weeks. We know things come up, but this is a TEAM Commitment, a factor critical to regular season success. If you are interested bring your SSN with you to the Player/Parent meeting on Sept 24. The team cost is $600.00 and must be paid in advance. Individual cost depends on the number of girls playing. The TEAM spaces fill quickly and we do not want to miss out. CREEK Prevails in STATE CHAMPIONSHIP; Gryphon Finish #2.
The 2008 Girls Lacrosse season came to an end on Wednesday night, with the Bruins from Cherry Creek defeating the HL Gryphon 15-12 in the Championship Final. In a hard fought game that saw a little of everything, the state lax powerhouse held off the "newcomers" from Heritage-Littleton to capture their third consecutive championship, and their 6th out ofthe past 7 seasons. Holding Creek to a close match proved the Gryphon were no fluke, and marked another milestone in the accomplishments of a program, team, and coaching staff that has taken HL Lacrosse to historic levels.

I’m a high school player. I’m a team player. I play with my friends and with some of my enemies, but I respect everyone when it comes to my sport. I know I’m not going to get a multi-million dollar contract to play professionally. I know I may not even get my name in the paper. I play for the love of the game, for the pride and honor, for the blood, sweat and tears it takes to make the team, to earn the spot, to win the game. I play because I can, I play because I know that my life would be empty without the sport I play. I would have a lack of everything my sport gives me…integrity, courage, talent, fearlessness, pride, strength, stamina, will, and the heart of a champion. If I didn’t play, I would lose a part of me.
I know what it means to be an athlete, a true player, and that is why I play. Two Wolves A Cherokee elder once told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My child, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence,empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
